Delhi Pollution:- Delhi ceiling to boost industrial real estate in Gurgaon Or near Delhi
Delhi is the most polluted city of India. In fact, it is one of the most polluted cities of the world. Winter is the worst time when pollution levels reach the highest in Delhi.
One of the main reasons for such high levels during winters is that the pollution settles down during winters. Farmers burn their heaps of crops during winters as there is no other way to dispose the waste. This leads to all the smoke and pollution coming towards Delhi and surrounding areas. This is also one of the key reasons for pollution in Delhi.
Adding to all of this is the pollution from industrial areas and vehicular pollution.
As a measure to drastically reduce Delhi‘s pollution, the government is trying to move away all factories outside Delhi. This will reduce pollution in central Delhi. The Supreme court has put forth strict laws to curb pollution in Delhi. Several industries have been ordered to shut down.
Let us understand this problem in detail.
There are 24 hubs in Delhi which are officially notified as industrial areas. These are namely Karawal Nagar, Jhilmil, Patparganj, Friends Colony, Mandoli, Keshopur, Wazirpur, Narela, Okhla, Mayapuri, Bawana, Mohan Cooperative, Jawahar Nagar. Only these are officially allowed to put up factories. Rest of the areas are illegal.
The Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation are in charge of managing industrial real estate in Delhi.
The municipal corporation has identified and ordered closing down of illegal factory clusters. These are mainly involved in welding, engineering, furniture manufacturing, denim, plywood, cardboard, and more.
The Delhi government has become very strict about illegal factories and are aggressively shutting down all illegal activities and factories.
The National Green Tribunal ordered the Delhi government to shut down 4,774 industrial units running in residential areas. Such areas include Najafgarh , Kirti Nagar, Ramesh Nagar, Moti Nagar, and Mansarovar Garden, all in west Delhi; Jangpura, Ashram, Maharani Bagh, Bhogal, and Mahipalpur in south Delhi; Shastri Nagar, Kailash Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Jheel, Jafrabad and Shahdara in east Delhi; and Malkaganj, Lal Kuan Ballimaran, Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazar, and Kashmere Gate in north Delhi.
Rohtak Road, Karol Bagh, Patel Nagar,  Rajinder Nagar, Anand Parbat, Old Rajinder Nagar in central Delhi; GT Road, Babarpur Shahdara, and Vishwas Nagar in northeast Delhi; and Burari and Jagatpuri in northwest Delhi,"
